Wrong-way accident claims 3 lives, leaves 1 critical

It may seem bizarre to think that people could drive on the wrong side of the road. However, a wrong-way accident can easily occur because a driver makes a serious mistake. Of course, many accidents of this type take place late at night or early in the morning when impaired drivers are more likely to be on the road, and impairment can easily contribute to such a crash.

It was recently reported that a wrong-way collision in New York had fatal outcomes. The incident took place around 5:20 a.m. and involved two vehicles. A black car was traveling east in the westbound lane when it crashed head-on into a gray car. There were two individuals in both vehicles.

The incident resulted in both men in the black car suffering fatal injuries. They were taken from the scene to an area hospital and were declared dead there. A woman in the second vehicle was also killed in the crash. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a medical center and was considered to be in critical condition. At the time of the report, it was not mentioned whether alcohol or drugs were a factor, and authorities were continuing to investigate.

Though the driver considered at fault for this wrong-way accident was killed in the crash, the family members of the other victims and the surviving driver may still have options for seeking compensation. If they feel is it right for their circumstances, filing wrongful death and personal injury claims against that driver’s estate could be a viable option. Gaining more information from local New York legal resources regarding this type of action could be useful to them.
